Our November meeting will feature a Time of Reflection with the Lay Dominicans, beginning with Mass at 11:00 a.m. All are invited to join us as we celebrate Eucharist, spend time in prayer, and rellect on becoming and living as Lay Dominicans. Lunch will be provided. For more information, see the flyer below.
In August, 2023, nine members from our fraternity joined Br. John Steilberg, O.P. and other Lay Dominicans from the Michigan fraternities for a weekend retreat at the St. Francis Center in Dewitt, Michigan. Br. John focused on the “Blended Life” - being Dominican contemplatives while living our lives as lay men and women.
On January 28, the Feast Day of St. Thomas Aquinas, the Fraternity provided a special appreciation lunch for the wonderful nuns, sisters, and Fr. David at the Monastery. Their lunch of choice was hamburgers and fries, with a few shakes. Members of the Fraternity obtained the meal from a local restaurant noted for their outstanding burgers, The Rolling Stoves (20780 Farmington Rd, Farmington, MI).

Our Fraternity is so grateful to the nuns, sisters, and Father David - for their commitment to lives of service to God and His creation through the Dominican charisms, and for their ongoing support of our Fraternity. May God continue to bless them, especially with new vocations.
A few years ago, the Fraternity adopted a new apostolate, GOD’S FAVOR, a non-denominational mission that provides bag lunches to the less fortunate in Detroit. Periodically, Fraternity members prepare 120 bag lunches for GOD’S FAVOR. During the winter, we also provide hats, gloves, and socks for distribution.
Our next lunch preparation day will be on Saturday, May 13 at 1:00 p.m. at the Monastery.

Recently, our fraternity was invited to submit an article about Lay Dominicans for inclusion in the quarterly Monastery newsletter, ECHOES. Following is that article. The full newsletter can be viewed on the Monastery website on our LINKS page.
